Renting & Quotes
How do I rent equipment from Orion?
Add the machines you need to your quote from any equipment page, then submit the quote form with your dates and jobsite. We confirm availability and pricing — usually the same business day — and finalize the booking by phone or email. You can also just call us and we’ll build the quote for you.
Why don’t you show prices on the website?
Rental pricing depends on duration, season, delivery distance and attachments, so a flat rate on a webpage is rarely accurate. Quoting every request individually means you get our real, current price — and we can often do better on weekly and monthly terms than any posted rate would suggest.
What are the minimum rental periods?
Most equipment rents by the day, week or month, with a one-day minimum. Weekly rates are typically priced around three daily rates, and monthly around three weekly — long-term projects always get the best value.
Do I need a deposit or payment upfront?
Nothing is charged through the website. Once we confirm your quote, we take a payment method to secure the booking; commercial accounts with terms are available for repeat customers.
Delivery & Pickup
Do you deliver?
Yes — flatbed delivery and pickup across our whole service area: Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Markham, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Oakville, Burlington, Milton, Caledon, Aurora. Delivery is quoted based on distance and machine size. You’re also welcome to pick up smaller equipment yourself with a suitable truck and trailer.
How fast can I get a machine?
Same-week delivery is typical, and next-day is often possible for common machines like compact excavators and scissor lifts. Tell us your start date in the quote and we’ll confirm right away.
What do I need on site before delivery?
Reasonable access for a flatbed truck, a level spot to unload, and someone to receive the machine (or clear instructions if unattended). For lifts and telehandlers, let us know about gates, overhead wires and ground conditions.
Insurance & Requirements
Do I need insurance to rent?
For most machines, yes — a certificate of insurance naming Orion Rental Solutions Inc. as loss payee/additional insured for the equipment value. Homeowners and small jobs can usually use our damage waiver option instead. We’ll spell out exactly what’s needed on your quote.
What is the damage waiver?
An optional charge (a percentage of the rental rate) that limits your out-of-pocket liability for accidental damage. It doesn’t cover theft, negligence or misuse — full terms come with your rental agreement.
Do I need a licence or ticket to operate the equipment?
You don’t need a driver’s licence to operate most construction equipment on private property, but Ontario law requires operators of lifts and telehandlers to be trained and competent (e.g. Working at Heights and equipment-specific training on commercial sites). Truck rentals require a valid driver’s licence appropriate to the vehicle class — or take one of our drivers.
Fuel, Damage & Returns
What is the fuel policy?
Equipment goes out full and comes back full. If it comes back short, we refuel it and bill the fuel plus a service charge. With-driver truck rentals include fuel.
What happens if the machine breaks down?
Call us immediately. If it’s a mechanical fault (not damage or misuse), we repair or swap the machine at our cost and adjust your rental for lost time. That’s the point of renting a maintained fleet.
What if I need the machine longer than I booked?
Just call before your end date and we’ll extend the rental at the same rates, subject to availability. Unreturned, unextended equipment keeps billing at the daily rate.
How clean does it need to come back?
Normal jobsite dirt is expected. Excessive mud, concrete or debris that needs special cleaning is billed at a flat cleaning charge — we’ll always tell you before we apply it.
Trucks
Can I still rent a pickup or tipper truck without equipment?
Absolutely — truck rental is where Orion started and it remains a core service. Rent half-ton pickups, HD pickups and tipper trucks by the day, week or month.
How does the with-driver option work?
You book the truck and one of our experienced drivers together. Insurance and fuel are included, and the driver works to your site schedule. It’s the easiest way to add hauling capacity without touching your own payroll or insurance.
